Steven Kubik is an experienced transactional attorney and litigator whose practice focuses on all areas of mortgage banking, real estate, and business litigation. He has served as outside general counsel for mortgage lenders and business clients, regularly advising clients and taking on matters related to regulatory compliance, employment, consumer lending, contract disputes, contract drafting, and real property law.
Before founding this firm, Steve practiced as a commercial litigator at a large law firm in Dallas, Texas. His practice area included general defensive litigation, lender liability defense, federal and state securities fraud defense, commercial debt collection, wrongful-foreclosure, contract disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty defense.
Steve graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law with the highest honors, summa cum laude—Order of the Coif, and was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. During law school, Steve also served indigent clients in litigation matters as a member of the Texas Tech Civil Practice Clinic.
Steve received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Steve earned Second Team All-American honors as a member of the varsity fencing team, lettering all four years and winning a team NCAA National Championship his senior year. Steve was also awarded the Rockne Scholar Athlete and DeCicco/Langford Awards in recognition of his dedication to the fencing team and squad leadership.
Steve currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Mortgage Bankers Association. He remains actively involved and has served on several committees for the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association, including the Regulatory/Compliance and Young Mortgage Bankers Committees.
Steve is passionate about community service and regularly volunteers at a number of charitable organizations and through the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Dallas. Most notably, Steve serves on a fundraising event committee for the March of Dimes, an organization of particular importance for Steve and his family. His son is alive and thriving thanks in part to the research and technology funded as a result of the March of Dimes mission to help moms and babies.
